2024 Roundup & Welcome to 2025
Issue #26 - January 2025
I had planned to post this in December, like other people. Unlike those other people, I don’t have my life together, so… better late than never?

2024 Roundup
2024 was a busy year, the best yet for my writing. I had five new short stories published and one poem, and made several more sales yet to be released.
Highlights
I released my new blog, The Sci-fi Writer’s Guide to Reality, for science fiction writers looking for simple primers on science.
You can read about the books I read in 2024 over on my blog.

Links & Recommendations
TV: Arcane season 2, Netflix. Flawed, yes. Too short, yes. Maybe it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. But I loved every aspect of this show. This season will be lodged in my brain forever.
TV: Silo season 2, AppleTV. Silo is back for another season, and I think they did a great job. The material felt a bit strained, and the pacing was off in places, but the production value was there, and the acting was strong as ever. I’m looking forward to season 3.
Books: The Writing Life by Annie Dillard. A short book about a life spent writing. Beautifully written and comforting on the best and worst aspects of a creative pursuit.
TV: FROM, SkyMax/NowTV. From the makers of LOST—finally! I stumbled on this show after seeing a random BlueSky post by Stephen King. And I LOVE it. Horror, lots of mysteries, great characters, and more questions than the writers could possibly answer—again, not everyone’s cup of tea, but I live for that kind of thing.
Music: Walking After Midnight by Patsy Cline. This one’s been on my mind a lot lately.
