Away, you three-inch fool!

Issue #7

Things to share this week

1. Decoration: Shakespeare insult poster. I've got my eye on this, having been reminded of some of Shakespeare's best zingers. "I would challenge you to a battle of wits, but I see you are unarmed." "You egg!" "Away, thy three-inch fool!" I think we all need more of these at hand.2. Podcast: Dungeons and Daddies. (Not a BDSM podcast... I hope.) Having listened to a lot of Critical Role lately (the premier Dungeons & Dragons podcast), I only needed a glance at this to download it. Premise: Four ordinary dads from the real world must journey into a fantasy land to save their sons. Say no more.3. Books: House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. Most likely one of the most underappreciated achievements in storytelling. If you're into meta-fiction and horror, this is a dream come true for you. A story within a story, wrapped in a descent into madness narrated by a collection of transcripts, letters, drawings and excerpts. 4. Music: Raspberry Beret by Prince. Prince needs no explanation.5. Books: Uprooted by Naomi Novik. Novik's work drips with a deep understanding of how folktales work. Uprooted tells the story of a young woman taken as an offering to "the Dragon", the sorcerer who protects her village from the evil in the woods. She soon realises that she is far from helpless, finding magic in herself that is somehow connected to what darkens the woods.

Until next time, be good.

Best regards,

Art
